We all are broken pieces. Finding a soulmate is not about finding someone perfect. It is about finding a person whose broken pieces would fit into ours, that makes us complete.
Sometimes we meet someone just like that and instantly hit it off with them. Or have an intuitive good feeling about them. And know somewhere in our hearts that they are your soulmates. But then because of a small doubt, little hesitance we don’t take the next step.
Re-sharing a short poem on this theme.(written last year -some of you might have read it already, but was on a kind of memory lane, so re-sharing it)
. . .
She had a secret,
He had it too.
He was afraid to share,
She was afraid too.
They both searched for someone,
Hoping to unburden their souls.
And after a lifetime of wandering,
Came together, under one roof.
But when the time was right,
And they were near each other.
They hesitated a little,
For a second and an another.
And then the moment passed,
That one opportunity was gone,
They passed by each other,
And remained forever unknown.

Don’t stop. Keep writing. It will surely be good. 🙂
a nice write.
but i disagree about the other person making us complete. they may complement us and fill in some empty spaces, but there will always be gaps. as for a “soulmate.” i feel there could be many that could fill that description as we only come into contact with a limited number of people in our life. what our partner does not give us, friends might.
circumstances do keep us from totally revealing our feelings to those around us we are attracted to. some of us (me) do take those steps to let some of those know my feelings, but always it is a risk. i am a hopeful romantic at heart.
Thank you for putting your thoughts out here. Really appreciate. And I agree with you, soulmate can be anybody -maybe our friends too.
Yes, ideally we might not ever feel complete with anybody, but then some people have came pretty close to it. A few of my friends who’ve found love -I can vouch for them.
I’m too hopeful romantic at heart and like you, most of the times find it risky to lay my feelings bare 🙂
Absolutely 🙂 Great post!
Thank you so much for the comment. 🙂
Oh I love your work. All of us are broken in some way, I keep saying, and that’s perfectly okay. In this cosmic journey, we all are found some time or the other.
Thank you Manan. The feeling is mutual. 🙂
